After a 11-year break, Mornington Island Festival is being reignited in 2022 with the first Kuba Dangkawa (Traditional Dance) Competition.
Mirndiyan Gununa is proud to host a traditional dance competition between the various tribes currently living on Mornington Island. Each group will compete for the prize of Best Dance Group, Best Gathan Gathan/Comedy Dance and Best Shake-a-leg, but ultimately compete for the pride of their culture.
Gununa community is invited to gather to celebrate family and culture, through dance, song and a community feast.
