Third place in Uluru – Kata Tjuta marathon

Back

No one said this would be easy, but just know that nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment.
Recently the Mornington Island Deadly Runners (four seriously talented Mornington Island youth) represented the Mornington Shire region with great pride.

The young guns put every ounce of themselves into participating in the 12 km (Indigenous Marathon Foundation‘s) race around Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa Australia.com
Uluru-Kata Tjuta is on the traditional lands of the Pitjantjatjara and Yankantjatjara (Anangu) people.
Our team finished off with a Deadly 3rd place out of 22 other towns (such an epic effort considering marathon running is new territory for the crew) !!
And supporting the crew on their journey, Rex Airlines (Regional Express Airlines) offered free flights from #Gununa to the red heart … with some other island organisations pitching in to support this Deadly initiative.
