Mornington shire council supporting the community

Mornington Shire Council is proud to support local not for profit community groups, individuals and teams looking for financial assistance to aid with community activities, festivals and events or State/National achievements and sporting competitions.

Our Council grant program provides funding to not-for-profit organisations that are supporting self-sustainable activities and events, and individual and team sporting achievements.

Categories of funding available

Council’s aim is to support a variety of not-for-profit organisations and individuals and activities throughout the Shire and offer financial assistance or sponsorship in the following categories on a case-by-case basis:

  • Ongoing community activities
  • One-off community activities and events
  • Individual and Team State and National Sporting achievements

How to apply for a community grant

Applications for support can be made at any time and should include the following information:

  • Individuals name/Organisation requesting the grant
  • Address
  • Contact number and email
  • The type of support requested i.e. in-kind, financial, sponsorship.
  • The amount requested
  • Details of the request and why you are seeking Council support.
  • Any other documentation that will support your application including selection letters, quotes, confirmation of other funding secured).
