Nominations open for Councillor By-election

Following Tali Tabuai’s resignation, Council resolved during the April Ordinary Council meeting to hold a by-election to elect a new councillor on Mornington Shire Council.

Interested in in being a candidate? Nominations are NOW OPEN!

Nominations can be lodged at the Council Chamber, 1 Mission Road Gununa or through the Electoral Commission of Queensland website. The Returning Officer can ask any questions you have about nominations.
* Nominations close at 12pm (noon) on Monday, 27 May 2024 *
If you live in Mornington, update your details on the electoral roll before 5pm on 23 May so you’ll be able to vote.

The Returning Officer will be at the Council Chamber until 27th May.

The Returning Officer can answer questions, assist or help lodge nominations for anyone who would like to nominate as councillor. You can also get help to update your details on the roll so you can vote.
