A great opportunity has arisen within our Housing Department and Works Department, requiring experienced and qualified Carpenters to assist with a full program of work.

Carpentry positions will report directly to the Housing Manager and will assist the Housing Team to undertake works for Community Housing and all Council Facilities on Mornington Island.

You’ll undertake work such as:

• Carpentry including design, construction and installation.
• Maintenance, renovation, refurbishment, installation, and repair work including other trades (glazing, tiling, painting, cabinetmaking, etc) for domestic housing, council building and infrastructure services.
• New construction work including Commercial and Domestic.
• Ensure all works are properly installed to meet the manufacturer specification, Australian Standards, BCA and QBCC requirements

Requirements: Essential

• Certificate III Trade Carpenter or Cabinet Maker
• Relevant trade experience
• Construction blue card and white card
• Desire to experience a remote and unique location and lifestyle

Requirements: Desirable

• EWP High risk work license, Skid Steer, Excavator, Welder
• Experience working for local government
